McDougall’s Dream – Wisconsin Maritime Museum Tour

September 16, 2020 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Wisconsin Maritime Museum Tour by Cathy Green

Please join us as Cathy Green, the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, leads us on a virtual tour of this gem of a museum in Manitowoc. For over 50 years, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum has been preserving and promoting the maritime heritage of the state through exhibits, programs and tours of the USS Cobia, a WWII, Gato-class submarine that represents the wartime efforts of Wisconsin, which built 28 of these vessels from 1941-1945. The museum is also the repository of ship and shipwreck artifacts from around the state, including the SS Christopher Columbus, Alexander McDougall’s only passenger whaleback vessel. The tour will highlight items from the Columbus currently on display, but also delve into museum archives and collections for whaleback material not usually available to the public.

Due to COVID-19, our in-person McDougall’s Dream will be virtual. We are offering 3 virtual Zoom sessions and an online auction. Each paid registration will receive the Zoom link with a password to be used at scheduled time. Presentations will last approximately 60 minutes. We will be recording all presentations, so no worries if you are unable to attend during the presentation.

Cost is $10 per presentation or $25 for all 3.

$10.00
